Volunteer at Pontefract Castle

Be Part Of Our Story

Volunteer With Us

Pontefract Castle needs you!

Pontefract Castle is ready for a brighter and more creative future and you can be part of it.

With the Key to the North Project now well under way our volunteers provide valuable support to the castle team. Make new friends, learn new skills and boost your confidence – just a few things you could gain by volunteering with us.

“I have really enjoyed my volunteering experience! It has been fun to interact with the public about such an important heritage site in my local area. I have gained lots of confidence in my experiences of helping in the shop, setting up children’s activities, helping with events, and assisting with tours. I definitely recommend others to have a go because of the independence you’ll gain, and because this is a very exciting time at the Castle right now!” – Alice Naylor, Visitor Experience Assistant.
