Feeling a little bit peckish? Pop into The Liquorice Café, situated inside our visitor centre. Open during visiting hours, The Liquorice Café offers a range of tempting home cooked food alongside cakes, scones and Yorkshire treats baked fresh every day.

If you fancy something warm and delicious on a cold dark day or you'd like to dine al fresco on a beautiful sunny afternoon, The Liquorice Café had indoor and outdoor seating, so the choice is yours.

The lovely folk behind The Liquorice Café are award winning caterers Asparagus Green who pride themselves on sourcing local Yorkshire products. Asparagus Green, who also provide catering at the National Coal Mining Museum for England, are finalists in this year’s White Rose Awards and have been voted New Business of the Year 2016 at the Wakefield Business Awards.

• Seasonal soup of the day with sour dough bread (Gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian)

Little Visitors to the café can have a smaller portion of the menu or choose a special children’s lunch pack containing five healthy treats.
