A short walking tour of the ruins of the castle.

This roughly hour and a half slow walk around the ruins takes in what survives today and some of the intriguing stories that have established Pontefract Castle as one of the most formidable forts in England, described by Edward I as the 'Key to the North'.

The tour will be led by Wakefield Council’s resident expert on all things Pontefract Castle, Ian Downes.
