Volunteer With Us

Due to the coronavirus, we are currently not processing new applications. However, you are still welcome to apply using the attached form and we will get back to you as soon as applications open again.

Do you have a passion for history or culture? Are you a people person? Would you like to get more involved with your local area?

If the answer is yes, then why not become a volunteer? There are a range of exciting volunteering and placement opportunities here at the castle, and all across the Wakefield district, with Wakefield Museums and Castles. As a volunteer you’ll be helping to make our places and spaces fun and friendly sites to explore.

There are so many different things to do within volunteering. Each role offers flexible hours, and we provide full training and support.

What's more, volunteering is a great way to:

  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Develop new skills and learn about the district’s history, stories and collections
  • Build your confidence
  • Be active
  • Gain work experience

Interested? We’d love to have you on board when we restart our volunteer programme again! For more information, download our leaflet using the link below, fill in the Expression of Interest form and return to:
