Events, Activities, Workshops and Tours

Wakefield Museums & Castles are pleased to announce the return of our popular bookable summer activities at Pontefract Castle and Wakefield Museum!

Activities at Pontefract Castle:

Every Thursday in August we will be hosting fun filled and impactful family activities at Pontefract Castle exploring the themes of nature and the environment as part of the Wakefield Council’s Festival of the Earth.

We also have a not to be missed short theatre performance of 24 hours in Wakefield, Planet Earth, a play written, staged, rehearsed and performed in just 24 hours! Creatively produced by Paul Bateson, the play will be performed outside at the Castle and will look at the world in 2021 through the eyes of 2 people who meet in Pontefract.

Dungeon Tours

Dungeon tours are still on hold for the time being but we are working on bringing them back in the Autumn.
